Crash Bang Wallop - Britain's Most Dangerous Roads

Just bought a new VW Eos? Fancy taking it for a nice drive through the county? Well here are some roads you may want to avoid.

Britain's 10 most dangerous roads have been recently been named in a report by the Road Safety Foundation. The list is made up of roads which have a persistent high risk of an accident with the North-West appearing to be the place to take extra care taking up five of the top ten places. So when taking out your new Audi R8, Surrey may be a safer place to do so!

Unsurprisingly all of the roads that appear in the list are single track with head on crashes being the most frequent of all accidents.

The RSF reports that accidents and deaths on these roads could be easily prevented with inexpensive solutions such as road signs, road markings and resurfacing - the latter being rather a sore point in the UK with are current pot hole pandemic. They also state that 300 hundred lives have been saved on 15 roads that have implemented these measures!

Here is the all important list of Britain's 10 most dangerous roads:

A537 Macclesfield - Buxton
A5012 Pikehall - Matlock
A621 Baslow - Totley
A625 Calver - Sheffield
A5004 Whaley Bridge - Buxton
A54 Congleton - Buxton
A530 Whitchurch - Nantwich
A285 Chichester - Petworth
A581 Rufford - Chorley
A675 Blackburn - Bolton

Remember people speed kills, driving like there’s no tomorrow is likely to produce that result!
